The P4 LED display is a display that many people often ask about. It adopts the SMD surface mount package. The resolution of the P4 resolution is 2048 dots, and the size of the unit board is 256*128mm.
The P4 LED full-color display screen adopts special thermal conductive potting silicone on the front, and the back is sprayed with three anti-paint protection and double waterproof protection, making the product more weather-resistant and heat-dissipating faster; a unique drainage hole is also specially designed to reduce the risk of damage caused by steel or structural defects, to avoid module damage caused by water ingress of the module. Improving the self-protection ability of the LED module is also to further ensure the service life of the display screen;
P4 full-color LED displays generally use in-line and SMD packaging. However, due to the high labor cost of in-line insertion and the slow production progress, the market has gradually been replaced by SMD.
The P4 full-color LED display is composed of three colors, red, green, and blue, so it can restore 16,777,216 colors; each square meter contains 62,500 pixels, and one pixel is an LED lamp bead, which is equivalent to containing 625,000 lights beads.
There will be a 4mm spacing between each lamp bead and the lamp bead. This spacing is also called the pixel spacing and is named on the product. Therefore, the P4 LED display is actually an LED module with a 4mm spacing. The display screen is spliced by the group. The same can be said, if it is an LED display screen spliced out by LED modules with a dot pitch of 5 mm, it is called a P5 LED display screen.
The reason why some are sometimes called P4 LED full-color display is because the LED display has three types: single-color, two-color and three-color (full color)
Some display screens only need to display some text or patterns. This relatively simple display generally uses single-color or two-color, and if you want to display color or dynamic video images, you can only use a full-color LED display. Therefore, when we need to display color images or videos, we will bring full-color words.
The P4 full-color LED display has two types: indoor and outdoor. The price is different for different environments. Outdoor prices are usually much more expensive than indoor prices. After all, outdoor LED displays use waterproof and dustproof cabinets, while indoors mostly use simple cabinets.
In terms of brightness display, the outdoor is also much higher than the indoor. Generally, the indoor brightness is 800-2000cd, while the outdoor brightness is 2000-4000cd, so the price gap between the two is still relatively far. It is worth mentioning that outdoor LEDs can be used indoors, but indoor LEDs cannot be used outdoors.
The P4 full-color LED display is often compared with the P5 full-color LED display. What is the difference between the two? Which is better? Next, let’s analyze it together.
P4 LED Display:
- Pixel composition: P4
- Dot pitch pixel: 4mm
- Density: 62500 points/㎡
- Maximum brightness: ≥2400CD/㎡
- Drive mode: 1/16 scan
- Average power consumption: 580W
- Best viewing distance: 3~40M
P5 LED Display:
- Pixel composition: P5
- Dot pitch pixel: 5mm
- Density: 40000 points/㎡
- Maximum brightness: ≥3200CD/㎡
- Drive mode: 1/8 scan
- Average power consumption: 390W
- Best viewing distance: 5~60M
From the above information, we can see that within one square meter, P4 has, 22500 more points than P5. This means that at the same distance, P4 will see more clearly than P5. The same is true in practical applications, P4 is better than P5. The picture quality of the P5 is more delicate, and customers who pursue higher quality will give priority to the P4 LED display.
However, the P5 is not useless, its strength lies in the longer viewing distance. We just compared it at the same distance, but we can see from the above parameters that the P5 can be used at a distance of 60M.
And although the P5 LED display has fewer pixels per square meter, its overall brightness is higher than that of the P4 LED display. This is determined by the characteristics of the LED display. The larger the number of points of the display screen, the higher the brightness can be made, the same can be obtained, the smaller the number of points of the display screen, the lower its brightness.
This is because if the number of points is sparser, the power supply carries fewer LED lamp beads, and even if the brightness is increased, it will not affect the display screen. But the denser the number of points, if the brightness of the LED lamp is too high, then the heat dissipation will become a big problem. Problem. These factors are the reasons why the brightness of the two is not consistent. If it is in a semi-outdoor or indoor position by a window, it is recommended to choose a model with a higher brightness.
When we assume the same distance of 5 meters, we will find that the picture quality of P4 is better than that of P5, and we can even narrow the distance a little bit, so that we can see that the definition of the P4 display is better than that of the P5 display.
But on the other hand, if we stand at a distance of 40 meters, then the P5 display is better than the P4 at this time, so when choosing a display, we can not just look at the price blindly, but also consider the specific usage scenarios to tailor the match.
Interestingly, in the LED display industry, the smaller the dot distance, the more difficult the production will be, especially in the field of small pitch (display products with dot pitch less than 2 mm), the price is very different every time you advance.
Although it is said that expensive things will be better, but whether it is suitable or not is another matter. For example, we are going to climb a rugged mountain road. Although the price of a car is more expensive than a motorcycle, it is not necessarily better than a motorcycle at this time. This principle is the same as when we buy a display screen. Fit is the best, not expensive is the best!
